Homemade Icecream

I love homemade ice cream, but when I’m in the mood for ice cream I am probably not in the mood to cook.  That is why I love this simple no cooking required recipe that my mom made when I was a kid.  This ice cream is lite and creamy making it a perfect summer evening treat.

1 quart whole milk

1 quart half & half

2 cans eagle brand milk

2 tsp vanilla

3-4 of your favorite candy bar crushed or chopped (optional)

Combine, milk, half & half, canned milk and vanilla in ice cream maker canister.

Add crushed candy if desired.

Place canister in ice cream maker tub and secure.  Surround with layers of ice and ice cream salt and let churn until ice cream sets.
